Hyderabad: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) on Sunday, August 30, appointed Bahadurpura MLA Mohammed Mubeen as the party’s in-charge for the Rajendranagar Assembly Constituency.
The appointment comes a day after AIMIM expelled Telangana Legislative Council member Mirza Rahmath Baig from the party.
Mohammed Mubeen Appointed Rajendranagar In-Charge
AIMIM announced Mubeen’s appointment through an official post on X on Sunday.
The party said Mubeen had been authorised to represent AIMIM and undertake organisational activities in the Rajendranagar Assembly Constituency. It also asked party office-bearers and members in the constituency to coordinate with him on organisational matters.
Following the announcement, Mubeen thanked AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi and Telangana Assembly floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi for appointing him to the position.
Mubeen currently represents the Bahadurpura Assembly Constituency in the Telangana Legislative Assembly.
Appointment Follows Expulsion of Mirza Rahmath Baig
The development comes shortly after AIMIM took disciplinary action against MLC Mirza Rahmath Baig.
On Saturday, August 29, the party announced Baig’s expulsion with immediate effect and directed him to resign from the Telangana Legislative Council.
In a brief press statement, AIMIM joint secretary SA Hussain Anwar said Baig had been expelled from the party and instructed to immediately submit his resignation to the Chairman of the Legislative Council.
The party, however, did not disclose the reason behind Baig’s expulsion.
Focus on Party Organisation in Rajendranagar
With Mubeen now appointed as the constituency in-charge, he will oversee AIMIM’s organisational activities in Rajendranagar and coordinate with party workers and office-bearers in the constituency.
The appointment marks the party’s latest organisational move in Rajendranagar following the action against Baig.
